This was a university project to create a 'brand book' or brand guidelines for yourself. However the idea was not necessarily to state rules for how to use the logo and which colours to use together but a more poetic representation of the kind of tone of voice and copy a brand would have if it had your personality.
Below is the left hand side of the contents page spread. I decided to write my contents along the lines of a vine rather than make it a straight list in order to make it more difficult to read and therefore make the reader work harder to understand it and as I liked the idea of the vine as something natural and the pricks as an added wall of defence I put up. I also left the title of contents in as I wanted to represent an idea of breaking convention and the layout being free and unrestricted.
The image below shows the right hand side of one of the spreads.
The pages had a scrapbook kind of feel yet were all printed rather than having bits that were loose or sticking out to keep it professional. I wanted it to feel earthy and personal. The photograph below was found online but the flower illustration behind it is my own.
The book works towards and ends with the quote below, the idea that its time to stop being a wallflower and start living.
